Forsythia

I just entered my first (top) forsythia photo in the Spring Photo Contest over at pullingmymaskoff!
Wintered over sticks.
Brown and dry. Dead and brittle.
Yellow! Spring bursts in!
I have linked with Floral Friday Fotos and also with Haiku My Heart! Click on these links and take a look at the other photos and haikus!

  5. Talking of sticks: to me forsythia flowers always look like scrambled egg on a stick :-)
And you're right: it DOES burst in. With a vengeance.
You really know how to get a good picture out of them. I have never managed that yet.
You haven't joined the no-verif club yet?
    Please consider.
I am now on my third verif try, and if it doesn't work this time, I'm out of here :-(

  10. Very appropriate haiku with that photo, and with what's happening in the Northern hemisphere these days. Spring is greening, (and yellowing and coloring), our world and many are joyful. Great post.

    Peace

  17. Oh, so beautiful! I bought a red amaryllis bulb in early December and tried to force it in the house, but nothing happened. I planted it in an outdoor pot and forgot about it. This morning I noticed that a tall bulb has appeared. Miracle! As are your forsythia.

  18. Good luck with the amaryllis - maybe it just needed the sun :)

  22. The photos and haiku brought back childhood memories... my uncle was a 'flower man/seller' and behind his house he grew forsythia to sell the branches in Spring to his customers. My brother and I were very little, and called this 'Uncle Jan's forest'... thanks for the happy memory!
