This log cabin is the oldest building in Loveland, Ohio - a small town just outside of Cincinnati.
Here is a picture of a plaque on the cabin.
This is an old gazebo...its not as old as the cabin, of course! But, its over a hundred years old! I am sharing today with
"Friday My Town Shoot Out!" This week's assignment was to "shoot" historical buildings!
I am trying to imagine a family living in that cabin in 1797! It's great that these buildings have been preserved and you gave us some terrific pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks! I'm glad they saved them too. I think that what the plaque says is nice - that a school group helped.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures!
ReplyDeleteThank you. :)
DeleteIt's great that such buildings are preserved for future generations .
ReplyDeleteIm glad we get a chance to see how people used to live.
DeleteSo nice to see children being involved with their local history. I imagine many generations of photographers will be grateful to them, it's such a lovely little building.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was nice they involved the kids too!
DeleteI love places like that. My old town is so full of historical sites I could not show them all. I was out Thursday doing my photos and our town was filled with visitors. The distilleries are big tourist attractions. Tours of the process and bourbon tasting rooms are the favorites. LOL

Oh, I know, I loved your post!
DeleteIsn't it amazing how small homes were when this continent was first settled? They didn't have as much "stuff" as we have today.
ReplyDeleteYes. I guess we don't need as many things as we think we do!
Deletethis old house remeinds me of Abe Lincoln's birthplace - except the fireplace was ruff stones not brick.
ReplyDelete:). Love these cute cabins!
DeleteWe really don't need a huge house. They live in this small house and I bet they are happy. ^_^ Very interesting post you have here thanks for sharing.
