I have prepared this post for Friday My Town Shoot Out. Today we are exploring the concept of the "Rule of Space" as it applies to photography. For more information, click on the link! Below are the photos I am submitting!
I call this first one "A Bug's Eye View."
Flower Box on a Bridge.
Steeple in a Storm.
Beautiful photos, they all have in common an exquisite light. I love the rule of space.
ReplyDeleteloved the bug's eye view. I have hundreds of photos like these - didn't know I was applying the rule of space, just like the relationship between sky and earth.
ReplyDeleteI like the first photo, you framed it beautifully too.
ReplyDeleteI like your examples. I'm not sure I've interpreted 'space' correctly.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. This has been a great learning experience for me.

I'm new here, but I do understand the 'terminology' and its interpretation as it is applied. Another term often used is the 'rule of thirds'. It is essential the same as the exercise being applied in your photo's.
ReplyDeleteI might add that your application is pretty good and with practice will improve till it becomes almost instinctive.
Bravo!
I love that first photo. Simple but effective!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I missed these photos. Very striking. I think my favorite series so far. Anyway, came back to say yes, you got it! age 7! Though I started to think he sounds a little younger, maybe six...I'll have to listen to my seven year old more closely when he comes home....writing in a child's voice is the hardest. Actually quite limiting, as naturally, is their vocab.
ReplyDeleteYou are learning so much -- I need to take a photo class@!
ReplyDeleteI like your bugs eye view.
ReplyDeleteThe last one is so dramatic, but I love the Bugs eye view..clever...Michelle
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rambling Woods. They are all good photographs though.
ReplyDeleteI like the Bug's Eye View, too. It gives a nice feeling of freedom and movement in all that space.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I love the steeple in a storm. I can almost sense those storm clouds moving by.
ReplyDeleteSuzy,Photos are fun-Space
I too like the grass -- and the rule of space gives it a direction as it reaches toward the sun.
